osmec agriculture

OSMEC Service specializes in cold sheet metal forming, stamping and deep drawing. It also designs and manufactures small and large size, traditional, progressive and transfer dies. The company’s showcase presents a range of excellent products, thanks to which it has important relationships with relevant companies in the automotive and household appliance, metal furniture, heating as well as other manufacturing sectors.

The experience gained in steel processing has allowed OSMEC Service to invest in the production of inter-row poles, using the cold stamping technique, obtaining different and better characteristics than those of the poles already on the market, made through roll forming.

The Infinito pole, is an interlinear pole made of innovative materials that make it 30 percent more effective and durable than the common poles used for vine plant development already on the market.

SIZES

The Infinito pole can be made in 3 different heights: 2700 mm, 2400 mm, 2000 mm. The thickness of the pole is 1.5 mm. One size fits all types of steel  used.

To facilitate the placement of the Infinito pole, with simplicity and speed, the surface of the pole has, along the left and right walls, the printing of two 1 mm embossed arrows, starting from 700 mm, at 100 pitch, indicating the direction of planting of the pole and the depth dimension, which varies from a minimum of 700 mm to a maximum of 900 mm, depending on the consistency of the soil.

HOOKS AND HOLES

The T-hooks, present in the pole, have a distance of 100 mm from each other. In order to put a strain on the wire spillage, an additional inclination was created, achieving double safety. When the wire is inserted and is in a horizontal position, in a normal working condition, it ensures the same wire never spills out of the housing. (Coupling designed for a wire with a maximum diameter of 2.2 mm). On the head of the pole there is a slit for rearing to Cortina Semplice, which is also designed to ensure that the wire is hooked.

The type and number of holes as well as wire hooks in the pole can be customized upon request.

Materials

The most common vineyard poles on the market are made of steel types with very low structural properties. The “yield” load is usually not provided for and one of the consequences is poor strength. The experience OSMEC has gained in the automotive industry has allowed a more conscious and innovative choice of materials used to make the new Infinito pole.

S420 is a high-strength structural steel suitable for cold bending and cold drawing operations. It is a fine- grained steel with low sulfur content (desulfurized steel). Its high properties and excellent stamping performance allow for the manufacture of numerous products that allow for weight and thickness reduction, which have, however, high mechanical strength.

Corten steel was patented by the United States Steel Corporation in 1933. It is a steel with low alloying element content (originally 0.1-0.2% phosphorus, 0.2-0.5% copper, and 0.5-1.5% chromium) and high mechanical strength. Corten is characterized by a yield strength greater than 580 MPa and very high corrosion resistance due to its ability to self-protect from weathering.

Features

Z

Infinito is made from a pressed steel with unique sheet thickness for all pole models and possesses a ‘high mechanical strength. These characteristics make the pole suitable for all types of vine breeding, mechanized and non-mechanized.
Some examples:

Cordone speronato

Cordone speronato

Doppio capovolto

Cortina pendente

Infinito’s production capacity is 5,000 poles per day. These are then shipped to domestic and international destinations.

Z

S420 is a high-strength hot-rolled sheet for cold forming. It can be:

  • pre-galvanized before processing
  • pickled with subsequent hot-dip galvanizing
  • with Magnelis coating
  • with Aluzinc coating

Description Magnelis® coating

Z

Magnelis® is an extraordinary metallic coating that creates a stable and resistant layer, thanks to its specific chemical composition (zinc, 3.5 percent aluminum, and 3 percent magnesium), capable of offering a much more effective defense against corrosion than coatings that contain less magnesium.

Z

Through the self-healing process, Magnelis® forms a very dense film that also covers the cutting edges and scoring, decreasing the contact between the steel and the ground. It is therefore almost impossible for even the most hostile environment to penetrate this film, ensuring perfect protection of the entire structure, more or less deformed, from corrosion.

Z

Precisely because of its excellent resistance to corrosion, Magnelis® is used in vineyards. Poles coated with Magnelis® have a lifespan equal to the existence of the vines they support. In addition, Magnelis® poles are at least 20 percent cheaper than wooden poles and have a longer service life.

Description Aluzink® coating (UNI EN 10346)

Z

Aluzink®is a Carbon steel,cold-rolled, continuously hot- coated with an alloy of Aluminum (55%), Silicon (1.6%) and Zinc (43.4%). Aluzink offers exceptional durability characteristics in all weather conditions, providing 5 times the strength of hot-dip galvanized steel sheet.

Aluzink can have a Fiorita surface, which is obtained by natural recrystallization of the coating, or Skinpassed, which is a surface suitable for pre-painting or post- painting.

Z

Aluzink has the ability to “self-heal” in the presence of scoring, a quality that makes it highly resistant to corrosion. This property is due to the aluminum-zinc coating, which provides the sheet metal with a twofold protection against corrosion: first, the sheet metal is protected because the coating prevents general corrosion; the second protection mechanism occurs at the scoring and cutting edges, when zinc ions migrate to these areas, protecting them from corrosion.

THE PROCESS OF SELF-HEALING

At shear edges and surface coating serrations, zinc provides corrosion protection to the bare steel surface by migrating zinc ions

VANTAGGI

Z

With a unique size of 57×43 mm, the Infinito pole provides 30 percent more strength than common poles already on the market.

Z

The Infinito pole offers maximum efficiency and maximum screw support.

Z

Thanks to the materials chosen and the shape given to the pole, designed to give greater resistance to twisting and bending, high resistance to strong wind gusts and other weather events is ensured.

Z

The Infinito pole is also suitable for sloping terrain.

Z

Depth reference arrows allow for quick, easy and suitable planting in all types of terrain.
